Santa's Close Call
Santa's Close Call
It is Christmas Eve morning and a major storm is brewing near the North Pole. Santa knows that he needs to start traveling by 4:00 p.m. or he will not be able to deliver all the toys.
It is now 2:00 and there are white-out conditions at the North Pole. The Governor has declared a state of emergency there and has grounded all travel for the next 24 hours. The snow is coming down at 10" per hour.
Santa is extremely worried and puts in a call to the Governor requesting a special permit to fly his sleigh. The governor tells Santa that he is worried for his safety and the safety of his reindeer. He tells Santa that there may be a break around 10:00 tonight, but Santa knows he probably won't be able to make it to all the children's homes if he starts that late, but he has no other choices.
Santa has an idea. He gathers all the reindeer and tells them he is going to need supersonic speed tonight, and all the reindeer agree they need Sully the reindeer on their team for this journey.
Sully the Reindeer can travel at speeds of 2000 miles an hour. He has supersonicspeed and can help the reindeer pull Santa's sleigh along with no trouble. It is now 9:50 and Santa and the reindeer are all teamed up ready to go. They finally get the call from the Governor at 10:00 and the Governor tells Santa he has a5-minute break in the weather. So with a pull of the reins and a call to on Dasher and Dancer, on Prancer and Vixen. On Comet and Cupid, on Donner and Blitzen and Sully! They all take off in a flash, with a wave to Mrs. Claus they are flying.
It is now 12:05 a.m. on Christmas Day and Santa knows he doesn't have a second to spare! With all the rushing around to get everyone ready to go, Mrs. Claus has forgotten to pack Santa and the reindeer their lunches. Santa knows that his reindeer need to eat to have energy to make it through the night. It is getting late but Santa has no other option; he must stop so the reindeer can get something to eat. He yells to Rudolph to head for the nearest McDonald's. Down they all go and all the peoplein the parking lot stare in amazement. There is Santa in his sleigh with all the reindeer at McDonald's drive-thru window! Santa orders11 Big Macs and 11 Chocolate Shakes. After this quick meal they are off.
Sully is helping Santa move at all time extreme speeds. They are moving so fast that the paint is being torn off Santa's sleigh! They fly by a military jet like it was sitting still. All of a sudden Santa gets a call from an Air Traffic Controller asking"Areyou a UFO?" Santa says to him, "Sorry it's just me Santa. I know I'm breaking the sound barrier but I'm behind schedule and I have my supersonic reindeer with me this year. The Air Traffic Controller responds, "Okay, Santa, butI've never seen anything go so fast on my radar screen.Then he wished Santa "Good Luck".
Well Santa has just finished delivering toys in New Hampshire, Massachusetts and Rhode Island. It is now 1:00AM and he is heading toward New York, and then he'll head south to Florida, He knows he needs to start heading west by 3:00 a.m. and the only way to make it is to stop eating all the cookies at every house. He decided that if he eats just the ones with marshmallows he will save two hours.
It is now 4:30 a.m. and Santa just arrived at little Tony's house in Los Angeles Santa knows they are back on schedule and is very relieved and so are the reindeer.?????
